Tags are a way to analyze, categorize and filter your games and practices.
Tags are always associated with a video sequence. During a recording, video sequences can be either:
- Created automatically accordingly to shotclock phases.
- Created automatically if you add a tag that cannot be associated to a shotclock phase.
- Example: practice with shotclock turned off.
- Created manually, thanks to the custom sequences.
De facto, you can observe that tags and sequences are linked.
It is important to understand the different terminologies regarding tags: automated/manual tags, early/late tags. These are presented hereunder.
Automated Tag vs Manual Tag
Automated Tags
During an event, Keemotion recognizes automatically a series of actions that happen all along the production. Whenever this is the case, tags are created automatically and assigned to video sequences. You will be able to find these tags in the "Recording Breakdown" screen.
The automated tags include the following:
- Score +1
- Score +2
- Score +3
- Fouls
These tags also show which team (home/guest) these actions belong to.
Here is an example of how these tags look like in the "Recording Breakdown" screen:
Manual Tags
You can also add your own tags for any recording. There are three ways to do that, each one of these being explained in a separate article:
- From the Tagging tab.
- When? Live = next to the court.
- You are in the arena and you want to tag the actions you see on the court.
- From the "Recording Review" screen.
- When? Possible as soon as a few minutes after the event occurred (slight delay).
- You are watching the full recording on the App through the "Recording Review" screen.
- From the "Recording Breakdown" screen (or playlist).
- When? Possible as soon as a few minutes after the event occurred (slight delay).
- You are analyzing the recording in the "Recording Breakdown" screen or the Playlists tab.
Early Tag vs Late Tag
Before going further, please be aware that the "Early Tags" and "Late Tags" are applicable only for tags that are created while the shotclock is not running.
If a tag is created while the shotclock is running, it will be automatically associated to the video sequence generated from the shotclock phase.
When you create a tag while the shotclock is not running, it will be linked to a sequence automatically created for that purpose. These sequences are created according to two parameters you can play with:
- The length of a sequence, which is a general parameter applicable for all tags. This is set through the Settings tab of the App.
- Whether your tag is typically an "early" or a "late" tag, which is configurable for every tag button. Just press one of the following buttons next to a tag when you configure it via the tagging grid:
Late Tag (Left Button)
Late tag is the configuration set by default for every tag, as this is the most used configuration.
A late tag is applicable when the tag is triggered at the end, or soon after the relevant action (for instance, a foul). A late tag will create automatically a sequence that starts 30 seconds before the tag is created and finishes 5 seconds after the tag (these parameters can be adapted to your fits).
Early Tag (Right Button)
An early tag is applicable when the tag is triggered at the beginning, or slightly before the beginning of the relevant action (for instance, a phase that is known in advance). An early tag will create automatically a sequence that starts 5 seconds before the tag is created and finishes 30 seconds after the tag (these parameters can be adapted to your fits).
